How would you describe your current aesthetic?

Kusakabe: I always try to take photos like a scene from a movie. As if there was an ongoing story, with action back and forth in one picture. I think aesthetic can also be hidden in peoples behaviour like facial expression, eye expression, gesture, feelings and human relations.

Who and what are you most inspired by?

Kusakabe:  I’m inspired by everything. Art, music, movies, landscapes, people's behaviour, weather, overseas culture. Usually, I shoot when good images come up in my mind and I’d like to express it. Im planning some shooting soon and looking forward to that.

Your work is featured in NEUT Magazine regularly. Where else can people see your work in 2020, do you have any exhibitions lined up?

Kusakabe: Currently, I don’t have any plans for exhibitions. My focus is to keep posting my new work on my Instagram and website.

Is there anyone you would love to take a picture of that you haven't yet?

I’d like to take pictures of people who create something or express their arts because I’m always inspired by creative people.

Thank you to Kusakabe san for taking the time out to speak with Unagilife!
